Here’s the strange thing about being a portfolio management company. The one thing we’d most like to show you — our results — is the one thing we’re least free to talk about.

Mention a number and we immediately owe you an asterisk, a note on where it came from, and a solemn reminder that the future may look nothing like the past. So we add the asterisk. We cite the source. We disclaim. And then, in whatever space is left, we try to mention that we’re rather good at this.

Here’s the part we ARE allowed to share, but ONLY if every one of these figures is 100% accurate and independently verifiable — that’s the only reason we can put them in front of you:

It’s an odd way to grow a business — staying quiet about the very thing you do best. And yet we keep growing anyway, at around 125% a year.† Not because of the marketing. Because of the results we’re not allowed to make a fuss about.
